Take The Slice has moved!

Most people know me from my main blog [Insert Name Here] where I used to post summaries of BL films and other content.
Well, if you do then you've probably already seen my "goodbye" post.

Basically I'm moving to Wordpress, I'm in the process of reworking my [InsertNameHere] blog to be a solid blog

ohinsertnamehereblog.wordpress.com

I'll be editing and removing anything that could be considered to be copyright, I wont be writing anything new (for the foreseeable future) but if you want to read my old film summaries then please head over there.

Thank you everyone and even though I no longer write BL summary content I really appreciate the many years of support you have shown me.

In regards to my person blog Take The Slice, I'm also on wordpress!

taketheslice.wordpress.com

If you're interested in finding out more about me, my life and my work then please, find me there!

I hope to see you all over there!

No Title

Well

At  the risk of being really negative... the best part of my life is over. I've returned home after spending a year in Japan and while I am incredibly happy to be with my family again,  I'm really saddened by the fact that soon I will have to go back to university.

I will be in my final year; I'll have exams, reports, assignments, my dissertation to write, I'll have to start teaching again and I'm terrified I forgot how to. I'll be starting everything again. After spending a year in an amazing country, meeting so many wonderful people and seeing them everyday...returning to my mundane university life in England will suck...really suck.

I never really documented online my life in Japan, but it really was one of the best experiences in my life. I was so busy meeting new people and being sociable while at the same time struggling to understand what my teachers were saying to me during the classes that I never for even a second thought about what I would do when the year abroad was over.

Truthfully, I had thought about dropping out of university after an incident that happened in March 2015 that really affected my relationship with the staff in my department. But I've spent 3 years of my life working towards a degree in Teaching English and I have only one more year to go, I know I can do it.

But I worry.

I worry so much.

Sorry if my post wasn't upbeat, but honestly these days I'm not feeling too great. I miss my friends in Japan and I miss my life there. I guess the only thing I can do is try to remain positive and try to focus all my energy on getting my degree.

As always, thank you so much for your support on here and on [InsertNameHere], it really means a lot to me when you guys email me (or comment). So thank you

5 Things I Loved About China

You can't really judge a country very well when you've only spent 2 months there.
But here are some things I really loved about my time in China

I Felt so Safe

Walking back to the flat at 8.30pm to walking around the town at 2am I felt so unbelievably safe. One night after our Saturday classes my co-teacher (Dan) and I went out for a drink. While we were out by the river drinking Tsingdao, as you do, we were approached by these two guys and a woman. We got talking and they invited us to go to KTV (karaoke) with them. Baring in mind we had quite a few beers bought for us so we were um...rather tipsy. Dan and I then got into this guys car and got driven 10 minutes down to road to this building.

I know what this sounds like, if this happened to me in the UK I totally would have thought I was being kidnapped.

We go up in the elevator to the top floor and oh my god.....the place looked exactly like those swish Vagas bars you see in the movies. Marble floors and pillars, mirrored walls and a water feature just chilling in the middle of the lobby. The place looked amazing! I would have taken a photo but I'll be honest,I had no idea where I was and I was in too much awe at my situation,

After 2 wide hours of KTV where I was forced to sing You Belong With Me by Taylor Swift twice because the 4 women there practically threw the microphone at me..both times. Dan and I were taken back to our flat....we offered to pay for the ride and the KTV room, but we were told it's okay.

I never felt uncomfortable at any point during my trip when I walked alone at night.

I spoke to my high school students about safety and they were shocked when I said I felt so much safer in China that I do in the UK.

The People

This kinda ties into the first one. Everywhere I went, whether I was alone or with Dan, people who didn't even know how to speak English would try and talk to us. We were invited to people's homes and cooked for and we were invited out to drink.
We took a 20 hour train to Beijing (That's another story!) and so many people approached us, tried to teach us card games. Nearly everyone I met was so warm and welcoming, even the drunk people I met in bars welcomed me to China!
The people I met there definitely made my trip worth it ^^

The Vegetables Are so Delicious

AND SO CHEAP!!

I bought a watermelon for the equivalent of £2 and it weighed the same as my little brother when he was 5 years old.
I swear to god.
That watermelon was one of the best moments of my trip.
The walking up 5 flights of stairs carrying it however, wasn't.

Feeling like a Celebrity When I Walked down the Street

When foreigners go to countries that are largely homogeneous they always make posts about how everyone stares at them. But I guess because I was going to quite a small city I was already aware that people would stare at me, so it didn't bother me that much.

But what I wasn't expecting was being approached quite so frequently and being asked if they could take a photo with them!

Having my photo taken and being told I'm pretty by people off the street did wonders for my self esteem

The only thing I didn't like was when the parents made me pose with their children. This one time I was walking to the school one morning and this man grabs my arm, I turn around and he gestures that he wants to take me photo so I'm like "okay^^", the next thing I know he puts this really young kid in my arms. The kid sees me holding him and starts crying so loudly. Like proper red face bawling. I was just stood there holding this traumatised child until the father took him off me.
I felt so bad for scaring the crap out of that kid *sigh*

THE FOOD!!

Oh maaaaaaaaaan
Legit Chinese food is amazing.
I mentioned in a previous post how I was in the south of China for the majority of my stay, and the south of China is known for having super spicy food,
The first 2 weeks I struggled. Everything I ate had chillies and chillies and more chillies in. But the flavours!! THE FLAVOURS!!

After spending a week in Beijing I started to miss the spicy. But Beijing food is special and mouth watering in its own way~
And then returning to the UK I really started to miss the spicy!!
For the past year I've been putting hot sauce on everything (T-T)

Annnd some things that I didn't like so much

The Bathrooms

You've probably seen things around the internet about the hygiene of Chinese toilets, particularly public toilets.....they don't seem to be exaggerating.
Although, after spending a few months there I became VERY good at using a squat toilet~

The Weather

What do you expect going to an Asian country in the middle of the summer?
It was humid, sunny and foggy (smoggy).  However, after a few weeks I got used to it and was able to wear jeans in 32 degree heat+humidity~

And that's about it!!
I really loved my experience in China, I just wished I could have stayed longer and learnt the language properly~

My Sincerest Apologies

Hello everyone.

It's Friday,  just past 2pm in Japan  and the weather outside is grey and humid. I'm sat in my dorm room with the air conditioning blasting a refreshing 27 degrees at me.
Last night I tried to curl my hair by using a sock, and I didn't do it so well so I woke up this morning with crappy looking hair but hey, that's life.

While I was sitting here and thinking about how crap my hair looks, I realised something.
I realised how much of a failure I am.

Before coming to Japan I had planned to record and document everything I did here, not only for myself but also to make sure that my personal blog didn't die (at least).I even made a blog purely dedicated to my life in Japan but...as you might have noticed, all of my blogs have died.

I wish it were possible for me to make excuses but honestly, the only thing that can explain it is I just haven't felt like blogging.
The moment I touched ground in Japan my life became hectic. It started with jetlag, then I had to get insurance and internet, create a bank account,  make friends, attend classes, write reports, do homework and try to live in Japan  (which isn't as difficult as people make it seem, trust me). When I had free time I would spent it hanging out with my new friends: eating, drinking or singing in karaoke. In short...I forgot about my online life.

Writing film summaries on my [InsertNameHere] blog was a hobby of mine, but yea it took time...a lot of time. I haven't had many opportunities to sit down and watch a BL film, for over 8 months that blog has been sitting around and dying and for that I'm so sorry.

I will return to [InsertNameHere] but that will probably be when I'm back in the UK. As for this blog, there is so much I want to tell you guys..so many things have happened but because there are THAT MANY things I have idea no where to begin....

SO HERE ARE SOME PHOTOS °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°

Even though I haven't been around, I still love and appreciate you guys. As always if you want to get in contact with me you can email me . See you guys soon!!

Day 70 - Another 5am Feeling Post

Okay so this post is probably going to make me sound like a crazy lady but....I feel like my entire existence on the internet already supports that statement so, what do I have to lose?!

So, the Attack on Titan live action will be coming out...next month(?) and I am here to express my concerns. Or concern. I have only 1 concern. It is a really ridiculous concern, I'll be honest.

If you follow me on tumblr or on here you might have noticed my...um.. /cough/ love* for HARUMA MIURA.

HARUMAAAA will be playing the lead character Eren. Which is wonderful! I am so happy he is getting so many fantastic roles and opportunities, he deserves it so much, he is a fantastic actor and a wonderful person.

But...at the same time as being so insanely happy for him, I'm also troubled. I know a lot of people that like the Attack on Titan anime and will probably watch the live action. They will see my beautiful (unknown to him) husband and realise how amazing he is and....and....

Yes I realise how ridiculous it sounds but....he is just so perfect!!! D:

*not to be confused for obsession.

Day 68 - I'm a little useless, ngl

I just had to wake my older brother up so he could remove a spider from my room.
Was it big?
It was big enough.

and by big enough I mean it was around 1.5 inches.

I dread the day that I love alone and a spider is in my house.

....I'd have to move

Day 67: IT IS HOT, OKAY?

I've been seeing a lot of posts regarding the "heatwave" in the UK at the moment and it's kinda pissing me off.  Not the posts where British people are saying it's hot because they are correct IT IS TOO DAMN HOT. But people from countries that are used to 40 degree heat ripping on us and telling us we are over reacting.

WE. ARE. NOT. USED. TO. IT.

We will probably never be used to heat like this. Extreme hot, extreme cold WE CAN'T FUNCTION! We are unprepared for everything that is outside of our normal meteorological conditions. We don't even have air conditioning in our buildings, if it gets to 30 degrees+ WE FEEL IT. We can't go inside and sit in a cool air conditioned room because that room is alSO 30+ FREAKIN DEGREES

YESTERDAY in my city it was 33 degrees. 33 DEGREES.
And last night wasn't much better. I was on fire until about 5am when the temperature dropped to 22 degrees.
Embedded image permalink
LITERALLY EVERY PERSON IN THE UK LAST NIGHT.

I can't even lie on my back because I got a god damn sunburn.

It's like being in China all over again....

I don't mean to have a go at all you "hot" countries....but try to remember the UK is not a hot country...and when we get close to hot..we panic.

Have a great day everyone~

Day 65 - Oops!!

Hey everyone!

I've been trying to create an updated favourite Yaoi mangaka list for...hmm...probably 9 days now. I only have two names on that list.

Why?

Because I keep getting distracted and reading the mangas

But seriously though, I'm having the time of my life~

An *updated* mangka list should be uploaded relatively soon.......ish

Tuesday 9 June 2015

Day 64 - Blindly Following: DON'T

I am very much over this blind love that seems to be around. It seems to be because people think being a "fan"  means you have to love every single thing that person or group does.
It really really doesn't.

Whether you're a fan or not you can still appreciate something that's good, and dislike something that isn't.

Y'all know I love HARUMAAAA (aka my husband) do I love his work?
YES I LIVE FOR IT
Do I love every sINGLE THING HE HAS DONE EVER?
Of course not.

Because believe it or not, I'm relatively sane. Even with this beautiful man parading around my laptop screen
(here)

My goddddddddddddd he's perf ❤❤❤❤❤

Anyway...my point is you don't have to like everything a person/group do/does...it doens't make you a bad 'fan'.

It makes you an honest fan. And that's the best kind of fan  ❤

Rainbows & Tears (Takumi-kun 2: Extra Feelings)

It's that time again! I'm having flashbacks to my adolescence...ha I act as if that was a while ago....it wasn't, I'm still young I promise....aNYWAY

I'm re-watching Takumi-kun 2 AKA Nijiiro no Garasu.
I'm not even 3 minutes in and I had a moment...freaking Gii walking into the class and kissing Takumi....I was ready for it and it still got me in the feels.

I remembered what frustrated me about the Takumi-kun series. Now before you all freak out I do love them, they were among the first 10 BL films I ever saw, so they have a special place in my heart. But anyway the thing that frustrated me was Takumi and his over use of Gii's name. For a main character his lines are limited to "Gii.." and "...eh?"

Speaking of Gii....he's such a shit to Takumi in this series. It actually bothers me how much of a shit he is! Getting all angry at Takumi for saying something, then getting him to invite some first year kid to a party without telling him why and then having the cheek to say "every party needs a beauty". I mean I get that he was doing it for Suzuki but hiding everything from Takumi is not right. No wonder Takumi feels so jealous!

But upon the reveal of Gii's intentions with the party we learn that not only is Gii a shit, but he's a sneaky shit.❤️️

I wonder if the school has a cleaner that cleans the students' bedrooms...because Gii clearly doesn't make his bed  (exhibit A)

but the beds are clearly made (exhibit B)
That's the type of things I think about when watching these movies.

The part when Takumi decides that he wants to learn more about Gii by becoming interested in what his interests, similarly to how Morita started looking at Fractals because Suzuki liked Fractals, is kinda sweet, but freakin hilarious! It seems Gii is interested in Protecting Shareholder Value as he's reading a book that is a guide to "Managing financial market risk". Oh man I'm dying. You can by the same book Gii has on Amazon for just $12, but the delivery charge is a big high, let's not forget the shipping charge if you're from the UK like me ^^;

I don't care how old you are or how much "hard BL" you like. That sex scene is adorable and you'd have to be dead not to love it.

Side note...I loved the mini English lesson, Abraham Lincoln reaching puberty...what was that even about?! ahha

The ending was really lovely, really really sad. But really lovely. Morita! Running all that way and not being able to go inside, I feel for him, I do. But that was such a perfect end, after Suzuki sees the light on the ceiling he turns to the door and imagines Morita being there next to him breAKS MY HEART.

Jeeeez, I get way too emotionally invested in these films ^^;;

But it is really interesting doing these 'updated' posts, to see what type of things I liked 3 years ago compared to what I like now...really interesting.
In the original post I was complaining a lot about Takumi lacking a backbone and not calling Gii out on his shit, but now I'm more irritated with Gii actually being a shit ahaha ^^;;

You're probably thinking "hey wtf...why haven't you updated Takumi-kun 1?" ...or not.
But the reason why I haven't done that one is because I actually updated that, I can't remember when, sometime last year, let me check my twitter.

Oh. Okay so it was in 2013...wow... but that doesn't matter it's still relatively recent?!
But unfortunately (or not?) there isn't an extra feelings post...oh dear ahahaha.

Anyway I will leave you now, for I have to update the official Takumi-kun summary (official meaning...on my blog, not official as in actually official...I WISH ahah)

Bishonen - Extra Feelings

(Day 61)
This is posted before the update on [INH] - link to the update is below

Hello friends and family!

I am watching Bishonen!
Do you remember about 3 years ago I made a post on INH "summarising" this movie? I use the term "summarising" loosely here because it was a train wreck of a blog post. I mean I literally copied and pasted the summary from Wikipedia. THE SHAME. THE ACTUAL SHAME.

Anyway, it has been over 3 years now and it's time I addressed the issue that is the Bishonen post.

In the original post I said that the film was available on DailyMotion, however when it came to re-watching it I found that the subtitles were way too small. So if you know Cantonese and can understand the audio, you'll be fine. But if you're like me and can't...you're gonna be stuck.
Luckily the film has been split and uploaded onto YouTube where the subtitles are somewhat more legible.

I couldn't remember anything about this film other than Jet being one mighty fiiiiine looking dude.
But the moment. THE MOMENT Sam brings Jet home to eat with his parents I remembered the ending. If you've seen this film before, you know what I'm talking about. *eternal tears*

So the film starts off with  Jet being a sexy narcissist. But since meeting Sam be starts being less arrogant and a hell of a lot sweeter!
Sam is such a tease and Jet is so smitten with him, it hurts my heart!

Ching's back story is really quite sad, before he became a hustler he worked in a office. A new guy called Fai (WHICH IS ACTUALLY SAM! I am absolutely ashamed to say that I didn't realise these two were the same person until it was spelt out to me) started working there and Ching fell in love with him. So cute~ But at that time Fai (Sam!) was with an aspiring pop singer called K.S. so Ching and Fai never really got together,
To this day poor Ching is still hung up about him. The two briefly meet in the street, upon this meeting , Fai (Sam) acted like he didn't know Ching :(

K.S is such a man whore, I love it.

Oh perfect. It seems part 8 is missing off YouTube. Wonderful. FAN-FACKIN-TAAAASTIC.
It's on dailymotion in all it's perfect quality (heavy sarcasm)

OH! Okay!!! Now I understand why it isn't on YouTube.
two words
SHOWER. SCENE.
OH and also
GUYS.PILLOW FIGHT. PANTS.

So now Ching and Sam have met again. Sam runs away and Ching is absolutely furious at Jet for stealing the only guy he has ever loved (Fai/Sam). Jet followed Sam back to his home and the two start making out on the bed. It's hella hot. But they are interrupted by someone who quickly leaves again before we can see who it is.

One second. We're allowed a make out session on YouTube, but not a non-graphic shower scene?! What's that about ?!
anyway...

It is never explicitly said whether Sam's dad was the one who saw them but Sam assumed it was. Not bearing to face his father's disappointment he commits suicide. But before he does, he writes a letter to Jet expressing how much be cared for him.

And my heart broke.

Also:

Love that lives in the heart cannot be so easily terminated by time.
Even though the encounter is brief, it's impression shall last a lifetime.
No one can change the direction of love that lives in the heart.
If you have loved. That in itself is the answer
爱活在心上
不是时间可轻易打断
就算是交会时短
记忆会超越岁月边疆
爱活在心上
不受谁的决定改变方向
你真爱过    这就是答案

Powerful words people, powerful words

There were so many glorious asses in this film that I had to take screenshots. If only the quality were better, but still BUTTS. Expect a compilation butt post soon~

Okay now I have to re-write the INH post, I'll link it below when it's done.

Bye bye guys, thanks for reading this hella long post^^

Day 60 - So Many Deadlines, so Much Negativity

I am nearly burned out.
These past few weeks have been particularly hard for me. I haven't had a proper 'weekend break' since the start of April when I was at home. It seems like every single deadline for assignments and exams have been happening to me all of a sudden. To be perfectly honest I am not coping well.

I have an exam and a Japanese presentation tomorrow. The presentation I am quite prepared for, however I don't think I will be able to remember what it is that I have to say. We are allowed to use cue cards but reading straight from them will mean that we are capped at 40%. The exam that I have is an English grammar test, easy right? You would think so, but I am very doubtful.

On Wednesday I have a mock interview for which I have to prepare a 600 word summary of a particular material I used in one of my past lessons and have adapted. I am currently having a mini freak out because I don't think I even have anything that fits the criteria. Without the material...I wont be able to get my teaching qualification this year.

On Thursday I am travelling home to Cambridge to go to the doctor. For that reason all of the deadlines that are at the end of the week have now been pushed forward to Wednesday. A Chinese portfolio task I have to complete that would be in on Thursday evening, and a Chinese speaking exam that would also be done then both must be submitted/done on Wednesday.
A 1500 word assignment (+lesson plans, feedback, materials etc) that should be handed in on Friday must be handed in on Wednesday at the latest.

I am slowly losing all motivation and wanting to lock myself in my room and ride the storm out alone.

But every now and then I find myself looking at pictures of Pandas

And my husband (Haruma)~ Just knowing that these two perfect things exist is enough to remind me that there is more in the world than my university stress.

Day 59 - Why I Love Jolin Tsai

Well, allow me to show you a few things

If you follow me on twitter, you would have seen that I shared this video:
不一樣又怎樣 We're All Different, Yet The Same
Just watch it, the song is beautiful but watch the video

Then there's this one
I'm Not Yours (ft. Namie Amuro)

AND THIS ONE
第二性 Gentlewomen

ALL FROM THE SAME ALBUM.
She is beyond perfect.

But seriously, check out her recent album Play (呸) there are so many good songs on there....ughhh I just love her so much.

Day 58 - Present From China

Over the Easter holiday, some people in my Chinese class went to China. I didn't go because I will be going to Japan for a year so I need to save my money~

My teacher brought back some snacks from Beijing~

She also brought back her 7 year old son...who was adorable...I very nearly took him back home with me. But kidnapping it kinda morally (and legally) unacceptable.

Wednesday 15 April 2015

Day 57 - I READ THE MANGA

Guys. Guys. Guys.
I've just seen Doushitemo Furetakunai.

I feel like I've hit with the nostalgia train. I'm remembering watching my first few BL movies and that feeling I used to get when I watched the cute fluff scenes before I was hardened (excuse the pun) by the hardcore explicit stuff.

If you read the manga recommendation post I made a few days ago you will know that I read the manga a looooong time ago.
I re-read it to make the recommendation post, and then again as I was watching the live action the second time. The film and the manga are so closely linked it was fabulous.

Remember when Junjou Pure Heart kicked us in the feels with their live action remake featuring the beautifully adorable Rakuto Tochihara (aka a husband of mine)? I got the exact same feeling with this film.  Not because it was "the best film ever" but because you could see that the directors didnt just strip it down to the basics but they actually kept it pretty close to the original manga. I don't know about you guys, but I love that.
As I was simultaneously watching the live action and reading the manga, you could see how it was nearly word for word the same. Umf I loved it.

In the first 10 minutes!

Okay it's really hard to visually represent how similar they are in one post...if I knew how to gif...I would. But you get the idea!

Compared with the manga, the film was very sweet and innocent...no graphic sex scenes, a film for the whole family~  Ha~ I wouldn't.
Not saying that the manga wasn't sweet! It was~ but remember, this ain't no fluffy-ass-shōnen-ai THIS IS YAOI! Where we have graphic scenes in abundance~ We're drowning in graphic sex scenes. Oh god imagine....

Speaking sex scenes, there was something very Takumi-kun-esque about them. Seriously, the nostalgia is real with this film.

I'm going to bring back Junjou Pure Heart again. Remember the kiss scenes in JPH? I just read that post back (dear lord it needs updating, I sound like an idiot) and I love how I pretty much said "It wasn't the best scene I've seen" when in actual fact I meant "MAAAAN IT SUCKED" in the nicest way possible.

Although the kissing scenes in this film weren't bad, per say, they were just...cautious.  If Shima and Togawa were kissing or being intimate in any way the camera recorded from far away, "are you guys even touching?" I would scream at my screen and that just annoyed me. Vary your angles god damn it!
Oh there was one scene when the camera got all up in Shima and Togawa's face, and that was when Shima was crying and Togawa was shouting at him, it wasn't a scene I'd personally go all close up with. But hey, I'm no cameraman or director.

I don't know guys I felt like this film was a little slow, which I find really weird because the manga was so fast-pace and interesting. I guess it's a different representation of the same story. Idk.

Kousuke Yonehara is the very same Kousuke Yonehara from COCOA OTOKO OMGGGG
I was staring at his face for the first 20 minutes thinking to myself "where have I seen you before? WHO ARE YOU?!" Then I gave up and did the cast list and oh my goodness crying clouds it' him. Kousuke Yonehara. The One.
Why did Cocoa Otoko have to disband?! I loved them so much.
I'm now listening to Cocoa Otoko...the heart breaks slowly for the millionth time.

What is it with the Cocoa Otoko guys and BL live actions? Kousuke Yonehara in this, Kenta Kamakari in Princess Princess D, Kei Hosogai in Takum-kun 2...that's 3 out of the 5 that I know about...

Why did I rate it a 6?
Well...I feel like these numbers actually have  pretty heavy baggage, to be honest I just kinda throw them away haphazardly.
Let's examine what the numbers effectively mean
1-4 : I didn't like it that much
5 : It was okay
6 : I liked it!
7 : I really liked it!
8 : OH I really really liked it, borderline love, yo!
9 : omg tie me to a chair i'm flailing with looooove
10 : *unconscious with love*

I don't like to go below a 5 and 8 means "I loved it" so that means I have 6 and 7 to play with!
I gave Takumi-kun 1,2 and 3 a six!
The numbers don't mean a lot ahaha ^^;;

Okay I'm done here! If you haven't read the actual post on [InsertNameHere] then  it's HERE
Have a lovely day ❤️️

Manga #21 - Doushitemo Furetakunai

Hi~ Yep this counts as Day 55~

Title: Doushitemo Furetakunai / どうしても触れたくない / No matter what, I don't what your touch.
Author: Yoneda Kou
Genre: Drama, Slice of  Life, YAOIIII

Basic Plot:
Shima has just started a new job, in the elevator on his first day he meets a seriously hungover man. That man turns out to be Togawa, Shima's new boss.

"Tough Togawa seemed rude and crass, but Shima was drawn to the kindness beneath his rough facade. Both men harbored a painful past, but unlike Togawa, who was open with his feelings, Shima seemed unable to move on. What will these awkward feelings bring "
(x)

My Thoughts:
I read this manga for the first time years ago (...when did it even come out?) and I loved it.I love both the main characters so much. Shima is so cute, and Togowa is really quite hilarious. Both of their backstories are tragic and heartbreaking.

THOSE SEX SCENES THO!!!
haha I feel like I say that with every many I recommend~ I love me some sex scenes~

Yoneda Kou's style isn't a style I usually like, but it didn't bother me.

Please read this manga!!! If you've never read yaoi before pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase read this one at least!

P.S
Yes...This is a hint at a certain summary that will be posted on a certain someone's certain BL film summary blog.........I mean wat

Day 54 - La La Laaaa

My life so far includes watching people build houses on Sims 4, sending pictures of naked/partially naked dudes to my friend and wishing I didn't have to go back to university in a few days all while I'm pretending to write this assignment.

I hope you all had a really nice Easter or weekend~

Some lovely person sent me a message today, I don't know if you will read this but thank you for messaging me I really appreciate you asking if I'm okay ^^

Day 53 - Home is...

I'm having a hard time concentrating on things, I think it is because I'm no longer by myself. My older brother is home because he hasn't found a job yet and my little brother is home because he is also on Easter holiday like me.

I think I prefer to be alone and work.

Also my phone is broke.
Remember back in January I dropped my phone and the screen cracked? Well, my dad said "Oh that should be easy to fix!" so now that I'm back for Easter I've entrusted it to him to fix

He broke it even more

I don't even know how he did it but as he was taking the cracked screen off, he didn't do it carefully enough.

So I have no phone -.-'''
curse you father.

Day 52 - Back Home

It's been 11 days since I last wrote a post on here. I am finally back home for Easter. Finally.
I can finally relax and forget all about university stuff.

WRONG

I have so much work to do and I'm not motivated in the slightest to do it.

Day 51 - Solar Eclipse and One-to-One

I'm about to leave and do my first one to one lesson.
I'm a little nervous, I'm not entirely sure why because the person who I'm teaching is actually my friend and neighbour ahaha.

For my TESOL course we have to do a one to one lesson and then write an assignment based on it. Ideally we have to pick someone who is intermediate/upper intermediate level...but my learner is actually Advanced -.-''

So I really have to took for her errors in order to correct them...the problem with her is that she self corrects ...leave me something to do please~~~ ahah this lesson is going to be interesting

In other news apparently there was a solar eclipse.
I saw nothing because I live in the north of England...it's cloudy 95% of the time.

Day 50 - Bored

You don't see any problems until you post the thing....then everything is wrong

Day 49 - OUCH!!!111!

Hi guys!~

I'm in agony right now! ahaha~~

It seems than in my 20 years on this planet I don't quite understand how flasks work. Especially the flask that has a "convenient 'open'  button" so you can "conveniently" drink your favourite hot beverage.

I haven't slept properly so I'm in dire need of some coffee, so I figure "Hey! Why don't I make a lot so I can put it in that convenient flask I have so I can drink it during my class so I won't die!" GENIUS I thought...

I went to test the flask...I opened the conveniently convenient open button and OIGHSOZJFHDAW;KLFH;DW;ALKHFDNS\JDNSA TOOMOTHERFUCKINGHOTTTOMGGGGG and proceed to spill it all down my face, chest and legs.

I look like Two-face...but horizontally instead of vertically :(

In other news I've recently made my instagram public~ ^^ *hint hint*

Day 48 - Plan a Lesson with Me

DISCLAIMER
I dont actually know what I'm doing! This could be a train wreck!

Step 1
See what topic you have to teach. If you are teaching from a textbook, cry because the section you have to teach from is the smallest possible section of the entire book and the grammar point you have to teach is not in ANY FORM OF CONTEXT. (not bitter at all)
I like to draw my lesson plan in a kinda time line format

Step 2
Go online.
Look for a lesson plan that has some relevance to what you will be teaching.

Step 3
Cry some more.
After hours of trolling through pages and pages of results and visiting thousands of EFL websites it has been made painfully clear that the grammar point you have to teach is either a minuscule part of a large ass lesson OR it taught at beginner level...and would be difficult to adapt for advanced students.

Step 4.
Give up on the internet. Go back to the textbook.
Look at the pages of reference and think. "Right....I have 50 minutes to kill with this stupid grammar point...what can I do to make the lesson informative?"
crying is optional

Step 5
Try to think of an aim
Will the students USE the grammar point in freer practice later? Are they learning something new?

Step 6
Once you've decided that the grammar point is in fact taught at lower levels so therefore they MUST have been taught it previously, dedicate 10 minutes at the end of the lesson for students to use the point in a freer practices (just to show off that they can)

Step 7
Right, 10 minutes are sorted. 40 more to go.
How are we going to introduce the topic? I KNOW! Test to see how much they know! Maybe some sentence correction at the beginning to trigger some thoughts of previous lessons where they were taught about the grammar point.
It shouldn't take too long...let's say 1 minute discussion, 2 minutes feedback (correction). Maybe get the students to correct their answers...this way you can chill out at the back...ohh nice idea~

Step 8
Now the topic has been introduced indirectly...let's do a revision!
The students can discuss what they already know about the grammar point. Get them to chat for a bit and then do a group feedback.
maybe....8 minutes to discuss and feedback?

Step 9
Now we can feed them the correct information.
Go through the general rules of the grammar point. Maybe ask a few questions to help hammer it home. If the students are advanced they'll know the answers....we hope.
Let's say it takes 6 minutes.

Step 10
How much time has gone? around 25 mins? COOL!! half way! Now it's time to get some practice in.  How much did they listen to you? Throw some activities at them~
Maybe a "select the appropriate one" task?
Dont forget to feeedback!

Step 11
How about finding a short text with a butt load of examples of the grammar point? remove all the examples and replace with empty spaces~

Step 12
Introduce the topic of the text if needed...I do because it's nice ^^

Step 13
Make them fill the gaps. MAKE THEMMMMM
dont forget correction~

Step 14
Now we have like 10 minutes left! Let's do that 10 minute writing activity, walk around and correct any mistakes (spelling grammar and what not)...if you have time at the end get some students to read their piece out.

AND THAT'S IT!
wow...so visual
Step 15
Thank the students for coming to your lesson. Be professional even if you're dying on the inside. They smell fear.

Step 16
Once they've gone, now you can collapse, sob loudly and hope to god you get positive feedback.

Step 17
Repeat the next week with a different topic.

Day 47 - My Bed

My university bed and I have a very unbalanced relationship.

I have a single bed here. Back home I have a double. I have  adapted well to not having that 'extra space'. However it seems that lately the bed has been doing whatever it can to push my buttons.

It knows when I have a 9am lecture and make me feel super uncomfortable so I can't sleep. But as soon as I get to sleep, and my alarm goes off after an hour or two my bed suddenly becomes to warmest more perfectly comfortable bed to ever exist.

Take this morning for example. My bed was like heaven~ I was so close to skip my class and sleep in...but those damn responsibilities ^^''

Day 46 - Happy St. David's Day

Last night  I couldn't get to sleep for ages because I was thinking of the things that I wanted to do today.

Go to the shop and buy bread and milk...maybe a tomato.
Go to the opticians and ask if I can book an eye test.

But when I woke up, I just didn't want to go out today. Then I felt guilty because  I didn't do the things I wanted to do the night before. Ugh -.-

On a slightly more positive note!!
I washed my hair last night and then out it into little braids (rope braids and normal plaits), and took them out today and ERMAHGERRDDD my hair is so puffehhh~

And it's Saint David's Day today~
